Air filters

These are examples of the more common air filters a homeowner could have in their home.
As seen in these pictures, filters can and will vary depending on the system.
Some filters need to be cleaned with a mild detergent monthly.
Some filters need to be replace monthly, while others only need to be replace every 6 to 12 months.
                                        1                              2                             3                             4                            5
As seen here #2 and #5 are filters that require cleaning on a regular basis. The cleaner they are the better they work. Monthly is recommended.
The "Media" style filter #3 should be checked after 6 months, if needed replaced. Some homeowners will find they can get a 12 month usage before having to replace a "Media" style filter.
The most common air filter is shown in #1 and #4, these are 1 inch disposable filters and should be replaced monthly.
It's very important to remember that no matter what filter is being used, that they are to always be pointed inward with the directional arrow pointing to the furnace. If you have questions please give us a call.
